Livejournal is being stupid. Again, it has this fear of being updated, so I’ll post here and maybe repost it later. Le Sigh.

So I have this pet peeve. You go out of your way to take care of certain objects or what have you. For whatever reason, it’s important, or special, or not yours for that matter. Either way, You take good care of it. Treat it like a bastard child you’re trying to reconnect with.

And when other people start messing with your stuff, they take that particular object for granted. And they break it, because to them, it just something simple. Nothing important. But to you… to you, it’s a big deal. You spent all this time trying to be extra careful; and someone else goes and just fucks it up.

So I’m in Manila, doing a few errands with my mom; whom came here a few days ago to finalize my going back to the states. It’s hectic, as I expected. Really, right now, I’m just waiting to go home. To be with friends and family that haven’t seen me in quite some time. And lemme tell you, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone. As much as I’ll miss all the great people I’ve met here, it’ll be good to be home.

It’s amazing how slow internet can really be when you’re used to cable internet. With livejournal not wanting to load, for it feared to be updated, I’ll just hang out here for a bit.

Saying the last few days of prelim exams and hard rainfall are scary and nerve wracking, turned out to be some of the most boring, and anti-climactic weeks in a very long time. There has been no useful event that had happened; outside of the exams themselves (were in themselves easy and anti-climactic THSS). I just sat around, studying, and… that’s it.

Like, I’m not freaking out. No one’s mad at me, I’m not worried about my other horrible problems; I’m just… free. That if I just do my thing; everything will be alright. With a feeling that everything would fix itself. It’s all going to be ok.

Now, by this Sunday, I’ll be in Manila, getting my ass beat. So, I’m going to enjoy this as much as I can while there’s enjoyment to be had.

Free Blogging Sites – A review

I’ve been trolling the internet for years, blogging and telling people about my escapdes. And, over the years, I’ve switched from many different a blogging site. So, I’ve decided to do a write up about the sites I’ve used.

Their pros and cons, and what drew me to them.

Xanga

Xanga was the very first blogging site that I used. What drew me to it was the simplicity of using it. Not know much about computers, it was a good start. It had a very easy, user friendly interface that was easy to customize. The draw back was, since you it was an easy interface, you really coulnd’t customize it to your heart’s desire. So, everyone’s xanga page ended up having the same layout of sorts.

The Good:
+ User friendly interface
+ Easy to understand

The Bad:
- All Xangas essentially had the same layout and design.
- Usernames were perminent and couldn’t be changed
- It’s not supported with RSS Feeds

The Ugly:
~ Almost no one uses Xanga anymore.

Livejournal

Livejournal or LJ was the second blogging site I used. To this day, I’m still using the same LJ that I created years ago. The trick about LJ is, it’s a little technical; in the sense that it used HTML in the entires with no toolbar at the top to help with the formating. So if you don’t know how to bold… you’re entires would be a little boring.

But, unlike Xanga, you were given free reign to customize your site how ever you liked it. Plus, there’s an exteremly large community to help with anything that you may need.

On eo the only draw backs I can think of is, LiveJournal is just that, a journal. It feels like it’s sole purpose is to write personal, subjective entires about daily living. Rather informal, if you will.

The Good:
+ Total artistic control of the layout
+ Large community to help with all your needs

The Bad:
- Rather steep learning curve
- 1-Dimensional
- You have to be logged in to comment

The Ugly:
~ Informal / unprofessional

WordPress

Actually I wasn’t the one that began using this website. A friend of mine actually suggested I used it, due to a project of his that he wanted to come to fruition; this website, actually. But more on that later.

WordPress is exteramly intuitive and is very much an autobot; there’s more than meets the eye. It puts Livejournal’s customization to shame. It features thousands of options to make your website as professional or as simplistic as you can think of. You create a username, and from there you’re free to create as many wordpress acounts as you’d like. All of which can be managed at the homepage dock.

But with all the layout options and designs, it can be a little daughting to work on a page from the ground up.

But if you’re willing to put some effort into it, WordPress doesn’t disapoint.

The Good:
+ Highly professional / minimalistic

The Bad:
- Steep learning curve (not as high as LJ though)

The Ugly:
~ Lots of customization methods, could be scary

So, there you have it. A small list of websites that I called ‘home’ here on the internet.

I need to make a change. And, like many, I decided to make a plan to do everything. I focused on my body to be exact. Knowing that my legs are all kinds of fucked up from my ankle injury and the wonderful decision not to do physical therapy, I decided to work there. After stretching my legs and realizing just how out of shape I am, I deduced that basically my entire body was pretty bad. The trunk of my body was just as bad. And I read online that

“If your core is weak, nothing else can be strong”

And so I refocused my training to my core first. A little bit later, I had, yet another revaluation. If my mind isn’t up for the task of doing what needs to be done, how on earth can the rest of me be…?

So, here is me, doing something about my life. It’s not going to be big. It’s not going to be drastic. But it’s going to be a start. Furthermore, it’s going to be important.

I’m going to be fucking better. I’m going to be better than what anyone thought I could be; more importantly, I’m going to be better than I thought I could be.

Here’s the start.
